Last Thursday saw the official launch of the Annie Vallotton exhibition, held at the astounding St Martin in-the-fields in Trafalgar Square. The walls of the grand hall were adorned with Annie’s famous line drawings that are so instantly recognisable, steeped in nostalgia and embedded in our memories.
Attendees of the event ranged from diocesan education representatives, school teachers and clergy, as well as retailers and distributors from the Christian book trade. James Catford, Group Chief Executive of the Bible Society and the inspirational Canon Dr Ann Holt OBE, Director of External Relations for the Bible Society and newly appointed Director of Education gave speeches at the event, as well as Paula Taquet-Woolfolk.
During her speech and prayer, Ann Holt, on the use of the Good News Bible and Annie’s work in schools, said ‘This autumn, the Church of England is launching a brand new programme for schools. There can be no better bible to pass onto children than the Good News Bible’.
The exhibition is still open to the public so be sure to go along and see the fantastic display of Annie’s wonderful work. Click here for St Martins opening times.
